The Blue Eye
The crystal clear of the Blue Eye is a very popular tourist attraction in Albania. The spring is a natural phenomenon, the clear water of the river bubbles forth from a stunning 50m deep pool. The cave does infact go deeper but no diver can fit through the narrow underwater tunnel.
The water is icy cold; many visitors dip their hands in to test the temperature. Behind the Blue Eye there is a small platform from where you can get a great view looking straight down on the crystal clear water.
Looking at the following picture, you can see where the name 'Blue Eye' comes from.
When the water bubbles to the surface it creates the illusion of a giant eye. At this point feel free to ask the guide any questions, as he is full of local information. After viewing the eye feel free to have a little walk around the area and see the many other springs coming out from the ground.
