My name is John Laing and I live in the North East and I'm a keen web/graphic designer with a 2:1 degree in Computer Studies. Ever since i got my first computer back in 1997 whilst i was still at school, I have been fascinated with the Internet and the many different types of website you can visit (some not safe for work!). During my studies at College and University I tried my hand at programming, multimedia, business computing, databases and pc maintenance but i found that Web Design/Development was the most interesting subject.
Having learnt the basics of HTML and Dreamweaver i decided to teach myself CSS, Photoshop and Flash to allow myself to construct much better websites both in coding and design. So since the start of this year (2008) i have worked hard to develop my skills by creating a number of small personal websites using any new techniques i have discovered. Hopefully you will be able to notice a difference in the standard of work by viewing my websites and photoshopped images.
I'm constantly updating this website whilst trying my hand at other technologies used in the web/graphics industries such as ASP.Net and Illustrator.
